Who is Fronkie?

Hi! It me.

I began tattooing in 2006, the only professional woman tattooer in Tallahassee, FL for my entire residency, ending in 2012. I opened my first shop way too soon in 2009, and when we found out we were expecting our first kiddo and my husband got a job in Southern Maryland, we closed our doors and packed up the moving van.

Right after my 10 year tattooing anniversary, I took 2 years off from tattooing to make another baby and go to the community college. I was working toward a degree in illustration, and as I started looking around at schools, VCU popped up on my radar. I realized I would need to go back to work to be able to afford school, so I started tattooing again.

Well, that prompted me to look at tattoo shops in Richmond, and I saw that Jesse Smith, world famous tattooer and muralist, had also gone to art school at VCU, and I made it my mission to work and learn alongside him. In 2018, dreams became reality, and the whole fam moved to Richmond so I could start working at Loose Screw Tattoo. I ended up deciding I didn’t need that expensive degree.

Now, 6 years, several tattoo shops, one ill-fated attempt at a tattoo cooperative later, I am tattooing out of a private studio on Cary street. I have honed my craft and my process to suit my ideal clients. Maybe that’s you? We won’t know until we try. Heck, I’m not everyone’s cuppa. But for those I am, we have a special bond. Let’s see if we’re a good fit. Check out my FAQ page, learn about my intentional process, then fill out the form on my homepage and I’ll get right back to you.
